Our Story & The Soul of N°18

Benvenuti. We are Mark & Sara, and N°18 Casa di Campagna is the realisation of a long-held passion for the slow, authentic rhythm of Italian countryside living.

Our goal was simple: to create a private sanctuary in the hills where you can disconnect from daily noise and reconnect with what truly matters—whether that’s a long, sunlit lunch with family or a quiet morning coffee overlooking the vineyards.

From the UK to the Hills of Monferrato

We moved to Italy in 2018 drawn by a love for all things truly Italian; the food, the wine, great people and rural living. After viewing 57 properties across the region, we finally discovered our corner of Alfiano Natta. The moment we saw the exterior and neighbouring barn, we knew we had found a hidden gem in Piemonte.

Over the next few months, initial hand-drawn sketches evolved into a full restoration project. By early 2019, construction began, turning a traditional country structure into a modern, eco-conscious villa designed for quiet luxury and relaxation.

While many travellers head straight to the heavily visited Langhe, we fell in love with Monferrato for its raw, uncrowded charm, untamed landscape, and deep-rooted traditions.

Having lived here year-round since opening our doors, we act as your personal local concierge to help you unlock the very best of our UNESCO-listed region:

Whilst our 3 bedroom villa is in a peaceful, authentic area of rural natural beauty we are between two of Italy’s greatest cities, Turin & Milan.

The drive is about an hour from Torino Caselle airport and an hour and 20 minutes from Milano Malpensa airport, add 15 minutes for Milano Linate airport.
